Passively Athermal Doublet

As discussed under color correction one can use two components to complement each other and solve four a pair of imaging components to have a common focus at two wavelengths (an acrhomat). Notice how I use the term "component" not material. This is done because a diffractive isn't a "material" dependent imaging component. It is truly a component.

In a similar way, one can use two imaging components to minimize thermal defocus.
