Optics Tutorial 9 HW solutions

1.What is the axial color (focus shift) in F - C light, for a N-BK7 singlet of 29.56 mm focal length?

Solution: δF = F/V = 29.56 mm/ 64.7 = 468.9 µm

2.What is the axial color (focus shift) in F - C light, for a N-SF6 singlet of -68.47 mm focal length?

Solution: δF = F/V = -68.47 mm/ 25.36 = 3.410 mm

We will come back to these lenses in a later tutorial!
